February 2026 is about to mark an indelible page in the history of Mottolino and all of Livigno.

 

The countdown to 6 February 2026 is almost over — a date destined to transform Livigno, at the heart of the upcoming Winter Olympics. In just a few weeks, three intense weeks of competitions will begin, an unmissable event for those who live for sport and for those who follow it with passion.

The fulfilment of a dream built through emotions, dedication and sacrifice — but also with the promise of great achievements.

MOTTOLINO OLYMPIC PERIOD FAQ

The 2025/2026 ski season will start on 29 November 2025 and will continue until 3 May 2026, with all lifts of the Mottolino ski area open, unless snow conditions require otherwise.

From 26 January to 22 February 2026, the Mottolino gondola (no. 3) will be available to both the public and athletes.

· Until 7 January all slopes will be open
· From 7 January all slopes except the “Degli Amanti” slope (5)
· From 26 January all slopes except “Degli Amanti” (5) and “Pista Mottolino” (3); it will be possible to reach the village via the “Giorgio Rocca” slope (26)

All lifts will be open and accessible to the public. From February 1, the Mottolino cable car will be available for uphill transport only.

Yes, during the Olympic period we are organising special activities for our guests in collaboration with our partners. All information will be available on our channels.

 

Until 3 February 2026, no vehicle pass is required to reach Livigno.

From 4 to 22 February 2026, between 06:00 and 24:00, residents, guests and second-home owners with an address between the Via alle Fornaci/Via Piandelvino roundabout in the Municipality of Valdidentro and Passo d’Eira will be allowed to access Passo d’Eira with their vehicle only if they have the ZONE 3 pass.

Bus line A072, operated by Autotrasporti Perego, will provide a daily Bormio–Livigno service from 06:00 to 22:00, with hourly departures.

It will not be possible to watch the races from the ski slopes.

Between 25 and 30 January, the Prefecture will secure the areas within the safety perimeter, which will remain closed to public access until the end of the competitions (22 February 2026).

Due to the changes that occurred during the Olympic period, the Mottolino Rental will remain closed from January 24 to February 23.

All slopes will be accessible from 23 February 2026.

All Mottolino restaurants — M’eating, Camanel, Kosmo and Teà — will be open.

MOTTOLINO SKI AREA ACCESS

5 Access Points to the Ski Area

  • Mottolino Gondola: until January 31 it can be used both uphill and downhill; from February 1 it will be available uphill only. To return to the town, you can still use the buses from the Teola, Sponda, Trepalle and Yepi areas. If you are a beginner, don’t worry: to easily reach the bus stops you can also use the Yepi or Teola chairlifts downhill.
  • Teola Lift: very convenient access with a large covered parking area and a public bus stop right in front of the parking lot.
  • Sponda Lift: over 100 parking spaces at the chairlift base, along State Road 301 connecting Livigno to Trepalle, with a bus stop at the entrance to the parking area.
  • Yepi Lift (Passo Eira): parking for approximately 70 cars. From Passo Eira, there is also a bus connection to Livigno every 30 minutes.
  • Trepalle Lift: over 150 parking spaces at the base of the chairlift; a very convenient solution not only for those staying in Trepalle, but also for those arriving from Bormio who want to ski at Mottolino without having to reach Livigno.

NEW OAKLEY FLOW PARK

After all these organizational updates, the best part is finally here: from January 26, you can finally ride inside the Oakley Flow Park at Mottolino.

A new track designed to make your day on the snow even more special: a run different from the usual, where you can have fun, get into the flow, improve lap by lap, and experience the park with the right energy.
