Nine Knights mtb: cronaca di uno shooting di ordinaria follia
Last night the first public event of Nine Knights MTB 2014 went on stage: the sunset shooting. I was announcing together with Nico Zacek, so I had the chance to hear the athletes comments and to feel their emotions very closely.

The public coming from Livigno and bike park Mottolino started taking place on the side of the castle at about 6 p.m., but with the wind blowing from north, we had to postpone the beginning of the show. Unfortunately weather is a crucial condition, especially during this kind of bike events: a stronger blow it’s enough to move the bike during the jump, putting at risk the athlete safety.

When you see them jumping out the castle towers, on a four/five meter jump, yu realize even better how the maximum safety is an essential condition. I heard more than a rider saying “I’d love to put on a show for these people that came to support us, but if the wind doesn’t calm down I don’t really feel like doing it”. That’s why they preferred to rider on the lower part of the course, among step ups, wall ride and different obstacles, pumped by a cool sound that helped us entertaining the public.

From what we see in the weather forecast, the appointnment not to miss is the one on Saturday, starting from 1.30 pm. You can reach the location going up with Mottolino gondola and walking down to the event venue (it will only take ten minutes). Those of you who want to get here by bike will have to follow the same road. At your disposal there will also be the Livigno Pump track, ideal spot to test your abilities.

I don’t think there’s something more to add, I’ll see you all at the castle! And to finish the event properly, don’t miss the party at Miky’s pub from 11 pm!
