INTERNATIONAL RULES OF BEHAVIOUR ON THE SKI SLOPES
1. HELMET
All skiers and snowboarders under 14 must wear a protective helmet.
2. RESPECT FOR OTHERS
A skier must behave in such a way not to endanger or prejudice others due to his/her behaviour or to his/her equipment.
3. CONTROL OF SPEED
A skier must ski with self-control.
He/she must adapt speed to personal ability and to the prevailing conditions of slopes, snow and weather, as well as to the density of the traffic.
4. CHOICE OF ROUTE
A skier coming from behind must choose his/her route in such a way not to endanger skiers ahead.
5. OVERTAKING
A skier may overtake another skier above or below and to the right or left, provided that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier to make any voluntary or involuntary movement.
6. CROSSING
At crossing skiers must give way to those coming from the right or in conformity with directions of signs.
7. STOPPING ON THE PISTE
Unless absolutely necessary a skier must avoid stopping on the piste in narrow places or where visibility is restricted. After a fall, a skier must move clear off the piste as soon as possible.
8. AID
In case of accident the skier must assist the injured and give his/her name and address.
9. CLIMBING AND DESCENDING ON FOOT
It is forbidden to walk on the trails, unless emergencies. A skier descending on foot must keep to the side of the piste.
10. OFF-PISTE AND MOUNTAINEERING - SKIING
The lift owner is not responsible of accident which may occur beyond his ski area boundary.
