At the end of the 1990s snowboarding in Italy
underwent a major revolution. Previously this sport had simply been a way of having some fun on the snow, but since then it has become a lifestyle sport and all the major ski centres around the world have created special areas known as snowparks.
Mottolino has always believed firmly in this sport and it has established an important name for itself by creating one of the very first snowparks in Italy
. Year after year, this park has received both national and international recognition and is now acclaimed as the best snowpark in Europe
. Livigno has therefore become the Mecca not only of all the world’s best known snowboarders, but also of Europe’s leading freeskiers whose breathtaking twin tip ski leaps can be admired every day at the park.
Competitions of the calibre of the Burton European Open
are held at the Livigno Mottolino Snowpark, as well as major snowboarding magazine photo shoots, the River Jump
and other unique events of worldwide importance.
Thanks to the various areas in the park, specifically designed to suit all levels, anyone can measure their progress against the world’s best pro snowboarders and freestylers
! Next to the XL area, reserved for professional athletes there are large, medium and small areas, all featuring jumps and rails that everyone can enjoy. And to cap everything, a huge inflatable where you can check your progress on. Located near the M’eating Point Mountain Lodge
, you can reach the Livigno Mottolino Snowpark using the Trepalle 4-person, automatic docking chairlift. The park also has a snow cannon
to ensure the snow is always perfect.
The snowpark is maintained daily using 4 snowcats and a dedicated staff of shapers
led by Mino a true snow guru.
, a leading snowboard brand, has been a technical partner of the snowpark for many years, providing important organisational backup during events and supplying all the material the shapers need to complete their daily tasks in the snowpark.
